MTOA Cooperating Marinas
MTOA cooperating marinas know that you are a good transient customer. They want your business badly enough to offer substantial discounts just because you are an MTOA member. Consult the list of Marina Partners
wherever you cruise. Don't forget to tell them that you stopped because they are a cooperating marina.
MTOA Port Captains
Port Captains are the true heroes of MTOA. They volunteer their time and knowledge of their local area to help MTOA members that are passing through with virtually any problem they may have. Need a starter repaired. Your Port Captain will know where to get it done and will probably drive you there. Provisioning or laundry, the same applies. You should probably carry a list of Port Captains
whenever you cruise. You never know when a Port Captain can make your life so much easier.
MTOA Yacht Insurance Program
MTOA is proud to offer an excellent insurance program for members' boats. Our goal is to offer good quality coverage with reputable insurers at fair prices. Our agent can get coverage for virtually any trawler, any age, any place.
Policy terms obtained by MTOA provide broader coverage than standard policies. Also, we've obtained favorable underwriting standards from a small group of insurers, helping you obtain coverage for virtually any trawler with a good survey, regardless of vessel age or location. The MTOA magazine, issued quarterly, has over 95 pages stuffed with members' accounts of cruises, problems solved, engine and maintenance tips and other advice. The current issue of the MTOA magazine is also published on the website for members to be able to easily access and read while cruising on their boats
MTOA currently holds two national rendezvous (northern and southern) and numerous regional rendezvous around the country. The Northern (Chesapeake Bay) and Southern (South Carolina through Florida) events are attended by upwards of 200 boaters and more than 60 trawlers. Recent Rendezvous seminars included Anchoring Techniques, 1st Mates Roundtable, Engine Room Inspections, Women's Hands On Maneuvering, Internet Underway, and This Old Boat.
MTOA Regional Groups
Our Regional groups (New England, Great Lakes, Pacific Northwest, Northern Chesapeake, Southern Chesapeake, North Carolina, Northeast Florida and West Coast Florida) hold local gatherings and cruises throughout the year. We're continually adding new Regional groups. It's great to have boating friends everywhere you go!
The sole purpose of the ListServ is to provide an effective method of communication for our members interested in learning more, and sharing information about, their interests in boating. The ListServ is designed to allow members to find other member boaters with whom to cruise, to share information about engines, mechanics, repair, marinas, anchorages and anything else of interest to their recreation.
